I just had a gander at Sjoerd Visser's site, and I just wanted to voice my
agreement with him that Bluebottle is either Sister Bliss on her lonesome
or another name for Rollo & Sister Bliss, but probably just Sister Bliss.
1) There's no studio credit for the Bluebottle mixes. And the engineer's
name "Blag 3" is obviously made up.
2) Bluebottle has only remixed Cheeky releases so far (BMFamilyBack and
Pauline Taylor's "Come Down"), which implies that it's someone in-house.
3) The Bluebottle mix of BMFB sounds as if someone, on a whim, tried to
make the track sound like "Insomnia," like the Rollo/Bliss mixes of old,
and nothing like the newer sound they're doing (Cardigans/Egg/Tricky/BMFB
Monster Mix). No one with more credibility than Sash! would so openly
copy the 1996 Faithless sound, and Faithless wouldn't ask jerks like that
to do remixes for them anyway. It just seems to me that Rollo & Bliss (or
Bliss herself) are taking the piss out of themselves with the Bluebottle
name.
4) I tend to think that it's Bliss herself, because she's had more time on
her hands lately than Rollo has (Suede/Tricky remixes, Pet Shop Boys
album, INXS album, etc etc).
