I doubt it too, but it _could_ still happen. A week before the Utah
Saints single "Love Song" was released, none of the record stores I
could find were listing it, simply because they didn't seem to believe
that it was going to be released... and then it was released on
schedule.
It is unfortunately true that smaller releases (if that's what record
stores consider this to be) _can_ 'slip under the net' and get released
almost unnoticed.
It's more likely to have been delayed, of course. Which is sort of the
good news, in a strange way.
