Got the Dusted CD yesterday and listened to it through the headphones in
the dark last night as Rollo suggested on the website :)
May I say brilliant? Really really great stuff, Rollo keeps amazing me with
every release. I've gone back and gotten a lot of his early work, the Felix
stuff and a lot of the earlier mixes. I love the majority of it but it
amazes me how much Rollo has grown as a producer and an artist. To call him
a "remixer" or "dance artist" is a great injustice.
Some of the stuff on here is so damn beautiful it damn near brings a tear
to your eye.
And "If You Go Down To The Woods" is ESSENTIAL headphone listening.
Unbelievable sounds going through your head. This is a CD that needs to be
taken as a whole, I love CD's like this that are a journey from start to
end. May I say I don't quite get the "story" behind it all but all I know
is my ears like what they hear.
Also, the version of "Childhood" on here is VASTLY different from the
version on the promo CD/12". A lot more effects added and the opening is
much quieter. Makes me very glad I tracked down those promos. "Want You" is
a tad different also.
I have the promo 12" for ....."Respect Your Mother" on its way to me with
remixes, hopefully more good stuff on there.
Call me a happy camper with this release. Here's to the remixes to come!
