Well my efforts were successful, I sent a CD-R with Sister Bliss' "Deliver Me" along with some Dusted and Faithless tracks to a DJ here in Detroit who hosts a 2 hour electronic music show every Friday night on our public radio station here. As a matter of fact, he is where I first heard Faithless when he played tracks from "Sunday 8PM" after it first came out and I immediately bought the CD. 20 minutes into the show what comes pumping out of my stereo speakers but the opening beats of "Deliver Me". The guy loves the song so my work paid off. Plus he played the full length version and I sent him the radio edit just in case. At least people here will get the opportunity to hear a track I thought deserved to be heard. I know some on the list don't care for it but I think it's fabulous. Plus they play some of John Martyn's stuff during other programs so I get the feeling some other hosts may add this song into their shows too. Who would think, Sister Bliss on Detroit radio? Thank God for public radio, you sure don't get this kind of interaction and willingness to play something different on our shit commerical radio here. And trust me, WDET is widely listened to in this city/state for the simple reason there are plenty of other music fans who want to hear good music too.
