FAITHLESS CUT UP
FAITHLESS have been forced to cut scenes from the promotional video for
their
new single 'WE COME 1'.

The contentious scenes in the promo - which features Faithless rapper
Maxi
Jazz in a warehouse-type room impassively watching as a Reclaim The
Streets
style riot flashes in front of him - all involve violent clashes between
party
goers and the police. One of the opening shots sees a police van being
pushed
over by protestors, while a later scene sees mounted police attacking
protestors with batons.

Although there is no direct mention in the video, NME.COM understands
that the
cuts have been made because of allusions to the series of
Anti-Capitolist
marches around the world. The latest of these is scheduled to take place
in
London tomorrow (May 1).

The video is directed by Dom & Nick, who have previously directed for
The
Chemical Brothers, Robbie Williams and Blur.

Faithless themselves have responded to the cuts by issuing the simple
statement: "Faithless support any person's right to protest, but we
abhor
violence."

'We Come 1' is released on June 4, followed by their third album
'Outrospective' on June 18. The band plays the V2001 festival at
Chelmsford
and Stafford in August.
