Thanks Nancy and Alice. I took your ideas and incorporated some others I got, and things look MUCH better now.

Where they aren't *technically* stories, just snippets. The snippets can frequently be based on things that happen on list at particular times. So I stuck with dates. I reserve the right to change any of that on a whim, however. Does the rest of the site look okay? I do plan to change some of the sub-pictures, and add *something* to the background of the main page. It was a lovely purple shade, but you couldn't really read the red stuff.
