dmRedirect was introduced for things like "send to a friend" or email campaigns where you wanted to track where your visitors to a page came from, eg you wanted to know how successful your email campaign was by seeing the number of people who actually clicked the link in the email.

It's a very simple type, just a short url (which would be sent to your users), the "real" url (objectid = blah) and hits, the number of people using that link.

Unfortunately an admin interface for dmRedirect didn't quite make into version 2.
