Hi there Mark,
Are you running CFMX 6.1 ? The reason I ask is that I've seen this
type of error running the Farcry V2 install against servers running CFMX
6.0x - which is to be expected as Farcry now only runs on 6.1 :)

install farcy on my machine on a webserver across our network, W2K and
Microsoft SQL 2000 have setup the database in SQL and set the mappings IIS to
C:\Inetpub\applications\farcry_core\admin URL to install is http://intranet/farcry/install/#
