Thank you, I'll try that. Also, I restarted the CF service and the security error went away.
Restarting the CF service brought to my attention that my dev server CPU was spiking for 3+ seconds for each page request. I had realized this earlier when the debugging output was showing several of the heavier parts of each page request in bold red (250ms+ processing time) but figured I could fix most of it with caching.
Now this is our dev "server" and it's an ex-desktop with only a 568mhz PIII CPU (how they came up with that number I have no idea!), with 768mb RAM. Not exactly screaming....
Seeing how slowly everything's running on this machine prompts me to ask if anyone out there has any recommendations for what you would consider a respectable production server for Farcry. When this site goes into production I want to make sure it's adequate.
Also if anyone has any add'l performacing tuning tips for Farcry (other than caching which seems to help a lot) I'm all ears!
Thanks
Rachel

Subject: [farcry-dev] Custom rules
Hello,
Well I've managed to set up my first custom type (albeit a simple one
base off the news rule, as someone else suggested so wisely) but now I
need a rule to display those content objects.
I tried copying the News rule and making some modifications to it based
on my custom type, but when I deployed it from the
<appname>/packages/rules directory it had trouble finding the rules.cfc.
For a quick troubleshooting fix I put it in the core Farcry rules folder
and it worked fine, but now when I go to my site, there is a big ugly
error:
Element DMSEC.LDEFAULTPOLICYGROUPS is undefined in APPLICATION.
The error occurred in
E:\Sites\Farcry\farcry_core\tags\navajo\display.cfm: line 191 Called
from E:\Sites\Farcry\farcry_core\tags\navajo\display.cfm: line 1 Called
from E:\Sites\Farcry\farcry_caseweb\www\index.cfm: line 4
189 : <cfelse>
190 : <!--- user not logged in, assume anonymous permissions --->
191 : <cfset lpolicyGroupIds = application.dmsec.ldefaultpolicygroups >
192 : </cfif>
193 :
It seemed to have something to do with security so Ive logged in and
out, but I can't seem to make this error go away.
I also can't figure out how to remove my troublesome custom rule. Can
anyone point me to some information on how to remove it?
Also is there any documentation out there on creating custom rules? It
seems to be "TBA" in the Wiki.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Rachel
