Hi,

I'm new to Farcry and have been trying to set up a new site (and having
a ball!)

I have created a custom type and everything appeared to be working.
However, I realised after a while that when I was editing an entry, the
Approve/Draft screen was not appearing, as it does when editing the
built in dynamic content objects. The link would take me directly to
the edit page.

After searching this group for a while, I found that Kay Smoljak had a
similar problem:
"I've just been talking to Andrew Mercer and he's shown me one of his
custom types using the new typeadmin, and he's getting that overview
page by default without doing anything additional to calling the
typeadmin widget. So what I need to work out is why mine *aren't*
getting it. I don't think I should have to manually specify a column,
edit should "just work". I used dmNews as an example to get the
typeadmin call... might have to dig a bit deeper."

After looking a little closer and comparing the notes for Custom Types
with how the News pages work, I realised that instead of extending
farcry.farcy_core.packages.types.types (as the developers guide
states), the news page was extending
farcry.farcy_core.packages.types.versions.

After making this small change, the Approve/Draft screen now appears
and I think things are working as they should.

Thanks to all who contribute to this group - as a newbie, I am finding
it invaluable!

Regards,

Glenn.
