Right click on a nav node in the site tree and select permissions.
There you will see the permissions that are set for dmNavigation and that control permissions for content within the node's branch.
To hide from all, set View and other permissions to No for the various groups at the Home or Root level. Then turn on what permissions you like further on down the tree.

Natalie

[farcry-dev] Permissions

Just getting the grips of the permissions and have a few questions.

1) When creating a new policy group I have gone through and assigned
the appropriate permissions. This works great and the nav nodes that I
have not enabled only have the preview option.

My problem seems to occur when I select the nav objects. No matter what
permissions I assign to the group the user has the ability to
add/edit/delete/create HTML etc... when they click on the nav objects.

In looking around I clicked on the permissions link and saw that there
was a dmNavigation permission group that looked like it controlled the
permissions for the nav objects.

So I have found no way to add these permissions to the policy group.
How would you do that. There does not seem to be this option from the
policy group permissions link.

Can someone point me in the right direction to create permissions for
the nav objects.

2) In looking at a different post I found the ability to hide specific
nav nodes from different groups. This works great till you add a new
nav object. The new object then becomes visible to all teh groups no
matter the permissions set. ]

Would anyone think of a way to hide all nav nodes by default and only
be visible then this is turned on by an administrator.

I hope all this makes sense. And thanks for all the posts on this site.
It has helped me learn a great deal.

Thanks

Lachie
