You can also create html templates.

   1. Add a file to webskin/dmImage called inserthtml*.cfm
   2. Include a line in the file: <!--- @@displayname: 100px thumbnail
   -->
   3. Write the template the same way you do any other skin:
   <cfoutput><img src="/images/#stObj.thumbnail#" border="0"
   alt="#stObj.alt#" width="100px"></cfoutput>
   4. When you go to add an image, there will be a select box from which
   you can choose the template

I think this works for files too.
