For the sake of the archives - here's what fixed it. The error was
indeed spurious, although I haven't searched through the farcry code
to find out exactly why. I turned on debugging and saw in the
exceptions list that I had the wrong path in my images config
setting, so the uploads were failing due to the specified directory
not existing.

Yeah I've checked that - tiny images that I'm uploaded.
What concerns me is I'm positive I've uploaded images to this
server through farcry before, but somehow now I'm getting this
error, even though the same codebase on my dev server works fine.
I'm wondering if perhaps there's some other error and I'm just
getting the wrong message from farcry - will keep investigating.

I am sure you get a different message if the file is too big, but
check that anyway.

Thanks for that - and after a little googling I discovered that
pjpegs are Progressive JPegs, which I think I've managed never to
hear of. However here's the string currently in that config file:
image/pjpeg,image/gif,image/png,image/jpg,image/jpeg,image/x-png
You'll notice it already has image/pjpeg in it! any ideas? I
realised when I re-read i that the error message itself shows this
too. I have no idea though why it's not accepting it...

you will need to add 'image/pjpeg' to the mime list in admin -
config - images

Hi all,
I am finding an odd issue suddenly - locally on my dev
server the
uploading of images for content works fine. But on my live server,
all of a sudden I'm getting the error that the images I'm trying to
upload are of type image/pjpeg (note the leading p) and they're not
accepted. These are images that upload fine on my dev machine, and
I've had no issues like this before so I'm hoping it's some kind of
setup issue on the server - has anyone seen similar?
