I am using active directory for authentication, and it works fine.

Howver, it appear I can not apply any "user" level permissions with my
AD users.

For Example..

I have some custom types used to hold data for form submissions. One
of these types holds user submitted data regarding a software
program.. registration data.

I have a product manager here that would need to login to the admin
only to see, edit delete this particular objects records... this
objects admin is under a "tab" called "contacts". then a sub item call
Software Registrations.

In addtion, this one user may also want to update dmhtml, dmimages,
etc but only in the nav node where his software product information is
located.

So I'd want to give him "Site" tab access, but only at a particular
navnode level.

can i do this somehow?

this kind of situation will apply to a number of my "contributors"
where they should only be able to manage certain "types" and only web
content at a certain Nav node.

Another example is my Human Resources Contributor.. they should be
able to work with my site's HR related content as well as manage my
"jobs" type.

I suppose I could create a webtop tab for each of these "divisions",
but is it poasible for me to lock down the site tree for a user/group
at a particular node?
