I would say no you cant.  Because of the CF mappings, as you know
mapping must be unique so you wouldnt be able to do it with a default
install of CF.  Depending on the environment, you could maybe set up a
different instance of CF and have your FC4 site run off that new
instance.  that would allow you to create your new mappings
independant from your default cf install.

This is just a suggestion mind you.  I havent done it myself.

With instances like this, maybe it would be handy to have a mappings
config file for the project in which you specified the mapping for the
project.  That way you could set up independant mappings for
individual projects.  This would also be useful for testing new
releases as you could set up a mapping per release and allow you to
keep previous installs intact incase you needed to roll back.

It would also allow people who are providing hosting for FC to allow
customers to deploy their own custom FC application without disrupting
other customers who are using default FC installs.
