Derek,

I've always done this via a dmInclude object that accesses my custom objects
for me. The check went into the include itself, forcing a redirect in the
event that the user was not authenticated.

However, if you enable caching, you will have to come up w/ a cache name
that is different, depending on whether the user is logged in or not. It
might be easier to force the login from the webskin, and if logged in,
display the cacheblock.

Note that my experience is w/ FC 3-so this may not apply to FC 4.

Scott

Subject: [farcry-dev] Security and Webskin Cache for items not in the tree

I want the public to have to log in to see certain custom content types that
are not in the site overview tree.

I don't want to do the checking in the webskin because I really like the
speed increase from webskin cacheing in 4.0.1.

Do I need to modify the Navajo Display code, or is there some way to do this
with the built-in permissions framework?

For instance I want anonymous users to be able to view dmHTML, but be
required to log in to view tlReport.

Thanks!
