Geoff, I can take as much as give, all water off a ducks back..
How can I contribute to something, when I am getting flustered with the lack of docs for an application that has been around for long enough to have most of the KB's, or FAQ on a website? I am being vocal because it is the same attitude by developers, we don't have time to document. Well get over it, as I said that is what I see as the biggest killer to a great application that has so much potential but turns people away because there is not enough information on how to use the product in the first place. At the end of the day, if you are happy to keep coding and not document thats fine. But do not shoot the messenger who is pointing out that you could have a stronger user base if you only cared a little more. I mean look at the API docs for crying out loud, they haven't been update since 2.0. I asked that question once before and never got an answer to where the V3.0/3.01/30.2 API is located. As I said I am the messenger, if you are happy to loose people because they can't see enough documentation to get the thing up and running then you'll loose out in the long run. They will go to a product that they think offers them that. The development world tends to pick and evalute applications very quiickly, if they can implment something with minimal effort they tend to stay with it. Otherwise they are off eveluating your competitor, welcome to the world of trying to survive as a developer. The only reason I am here, is because we got handed a website that needed some Farcry maintenace otherwise I would have installed droupal and be done with it. Please accept my apology for the wise crack. I figured if you could dish it out you could take it. Clearly you cannot and I will do my best to refrain from further innuendo. > but hey if it was documented in the first place the stupid question would > never have been asked, now would it. No question in this forum is stupid. The way you ask questions is stupid. You antagonise everyone who might otherwise do their best to help you. You demand responses, are ungrateful when you receive them and contribute nothing to this community in return. The FarCry community endeavours to provide harmony and Ubuntu. Nelson Mandela explained Ubuntu as follows. "A traveller through our country would stop at a village, and he didn't have to ask for food or for water. Once he stops, the people give him food, entertain him. That is one aspect of Ubuntu but Ubuntu has various aspects. Ubuntu does not mean that people should not address themselves. The question therefore is: Are you going to do so in order to enable the community around you to improve?"
