I am currently working on a college website that is going to be FC 3.0.2 (I
have no choice on the version so please don't suggest that I upgrade). The
main college will have several departments underneath it. Each department
under the parent will have its own contributors and publishers but some
information will end up being shared among the departments. I do not want
someone from Math department being able to affect content in any way of the
Science department. However, when going to the main college site, we might
want an upcoming events feed that bring in events for all departments.

I'm not really sure how to accomplish what I need. Do I have a node under
home for each department and set up tree specific permissions and policy
groups to match? Is there a way to do away with the "Home" node and allow
each college to have their own home note like this:

Root

|_Math home

|_Science Home

|_English Home

If so, how do you accomplish locking users into their own home node. I've
attempted this before by editing the user and selecting a new "User Home
Node" but it never seems to work.

Any suggestions on how to organize this would be appreciated. Thank you in
advance!
