I am trying to create an rss feed w/content based on user login. Ideally, the items (mostly dmNews) would get categorized upon creation. The question then is how, based on group membership, to determine which users see which "categories." There will be several hundred groups. I was reading some of Jake's postings here recenly regarding permissions out side the tree. However, his approach requires login when the user tries to see the full body. I need to filter it before hand. I have come up w/several approaches, but am not happy with either. I keep thinking there has to be a better way. Approach 1: Create parallel entries in dmGroup and dmCategory with the same name and map by name Approach 2: Extend dmNews, allowing an array of groups to be selected (and ignore the categories) Approach 3: Create a GroupCategory mapper that allows groups to be assigned categories. When a user logs in, determine the groups, and then the associated categories. Then generate the RSS on the categories. Any comments? Better ideas?
