Yes, there is a config option for inserting images. You can also use insertHTML templates to customize how images/links are inserted. Any feedback is appreciated. Its the images that are added by farcry that im having an issue with. Basically if you create an html page within the farcry admin using the html text editor the images you pull into the body content via the add/ insert image functionality are not appearing on pages using friendly urls. This is for the reasons discussed by you ie the path is wrong. I think this insert image functionality code is using relative paths and thus the problem is created. However the html type was extended for this site so I'll check whether this has happened during the extension. If its not due to the extension i was wondering where the path the insert image func (config maybe?) uses is set and if it can be adjusted for future use.
