Ok so after much much much much frustration with breadcrumbs not
working properly when on an internal page (it was displaying "Home |
Home | Section"), the solution wound up being very simple.

*sigh* isn't it always?

So the situation was this:
Needed breadcrumbs that worked as follows:
Members login: Home | Members | Login (working already)
Current Issue Page: Home | Members | Current Issue (working already)
Archived Issue Page: Home | Members | Archived Issue (working already)
Current Issue, Section Page: Home | Members | Current Issue | Section
(not working)
Archived Issue, Section Page: Home | Members | Archived Issue |
Section (not working)

I was passing in the Members alias (application.navid.members) for
parentnode but I kept getting the Home | Home | Section breadcrumb. I
tried passing in hardcoded objectids, bogus objectids, hacking the
breadcrumb.cfm file, blah blah blah. But all for nothing.

On a defeated whim, I changed parentnode="application.navid.members"
to objectid="application.navid.members" and Behold! the ceiling burst
open to let a ray of light beam down onto me, my monitor began to bend
and morph into a smile that would make the Orbitz advertising
executives proud and the breadcrumbs worked!

Well...

Almost.

They are significantly closer to what they should be now but still
slightly off. Now they are Home | Members | Section. I'm close enuff
tho that I *believe* I can slightly modify the file to check for a
session variable that I'm using to dictate which issue it is and then
hijack the display code accurately... I'm almost certain of it. If
nothing else tho, I have hope once again :)

So for anyone else that could possibly be having the same sort of
issue, try swapping parentnode with objectid. Not saying it'll work
for your particular situation but it couldn't hurt :)
