Based on what I know, they are tied directly to the ObjectID of the containing HTML object. That is, assuming the container name contains #stObj.objectID# in it. If that is the case then the version of the container is directly tied to the version of the HTML object, therefore, if an HTML object is rolled back, the content in its containers should be rolled back as well. Of course, there is a good possibility that I'm wrong about this as well.
