Why is nobody publishing their plugins for Farcry??
Plugins are way easier to develop than many people imagine. The problem we face is that the time it would take to build a bespoke polling plugin, for example, is less than the time to review the appropriateness of a bunch of pre-published polling plugins. So those of us better placed to be building plugins often take for granted that those out there who don't have the time to learn how to build plugins might find such plugins very useful ;) We'll try and release some more bits once 5.0 is bedded down. Fortress includes a variety of very nice developer options for solution distribution, as well as plugin distribution. You can, for example, build a blog application.. and distribute it not as FarCry with a Blog Plugin but as a standalone application for blogging, complete with sample data, its own dependent plugins and so on. This is really why my efforts to productise my blog have slowed till we launch the 5.0 platform. Rambling a bit i know, but i thought the information might interest folks. -- geoff http://www.daemon.com.au/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "farcry-dev" group.
