Upgrading from 3 -> 4 is relatively painless. Although you may need to make some changes to the code base if you have custom code. A list of potential issues has been noted here: http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCDEV40/Upgrading+from+Earlier+Versions Upgrading from 4 -> 5 is actually very slick. You just download the updated core files and plugins -- the framework automatically detects you have an out of date application and offers to upgrade it. The updater is described here: http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCDEV50/Fortress+Installation Note you will need to upgrade from 3->4->5 there is no direct route from 3->5.
