Thanks for the info chaps.

Ive created a dmLink.cfc file with the following info:

 <cfcomponent
extends="farcry.plugins.farcrycms.packages.types.dmLink.cfc"
bUseInTree="false"></cfcomponent>

and saved the file inside the projects packages > types folder, ran
updateapp=1 a few times, but the link is still appearing.
