Sirs, I have posted to the boards last year about how to hide menu items from non logged-on or unauthorised users. I dont want them to just see them and be sent to log in if they click. Such granular control of menus (and everything) is standard in Drupal. I see it a a huge plus and cannot understand why it isn't in Farcry.
The answer I got was to create an entire nav tree alias and point to that. This seemed a tad wasteful and redious to me when all the required data is in the existing nav tree. I dont mind if the menu takes a little longer to generate for this feature. It's well worth it. However since there are only every a handful of groups..anonymous, members, admin etc.. then it would be quite realistic to cache a copy for each. Anyway, how to I make the nav generator obey the node permission settings (and which remplate is it in 5.0!) and not produce menu items that dont have permissions?
