Hi Im not sure how 'elegant' a solution this is but I set up the link to the event to pass through the id of the page that the link is on as well as the eventide. I then use this id to build the nav and breadcrumbs instead of request.navid in the events displaypageStandard template.
Im working in farcry 3 atm tho. Not sure if its how id do it in 4 as I haven't any experience with it.
