Ok - I now have it working. It turns out the LDAP plugin is missing a critical function: getGroupUsers.
I found this earlier thread from August (!) on the same issue: http://groups.google.com/group/farcry-beta/browse_thread/thread/d55a7c8a113cd1a8 Once getGroupUsers was coded many broken aspects of my Farcry 5 insatll began working. I could login, approvals stopped throwing errors and permissions could be set for objects in the site tree. Unfortunately I could never get my LDAP directory to return an objectClass=groupOfNames so I had to cfloop over the "member" field of the specific group returned from objectclass=group. Cheers Peter.
