DevelopCFMax, I don't believe anyone has integrated MCImageManager with FarCry. Although, to my knowledge the user shouldn't need be concerned with the file location/path of the media assets. It was designed to be easier than that (at least that was the intention).
If image manipulation is what you might be interested in (cropping, rotating), then check out the Farcry Picnik plugin. I know this isn't what you asked for, but I was just thinking about any other comparrisons there may have been internally with MCImageManager.
