The automatic FU generation is created form teh content object label.

So i think you have a couple of options:
1. get your client to enter the full event title including year, month
& name in the title, this will get copied to the label and therefore
the FU will include the year, month and dat
2. extend dmEvent and modify the beforeSave function to set teh label
to be year & month & date & title, this should then create the FU with
these details

An other option is manul FU admin.
