I would copy / transfer the db with an db admin, setup a advanced
setup on the hosting environment and just put on of the projects to
the projects/projectname folder and set everything up in iis or
whatever webserver.

Then when needed a second or whatever number of projects could be
easily added.
This is the way i transfer stuff constantly between my local comp and
the dev server.

Never checked the export skeleton, maybe i should!
