Folks, Apologies for the lack of Daemon activity in the forums (well except for Blair who has been jumping in when he can) -- we've been hard at work putting together the latest FarCry version, codenamed: Formality.
It's turned into a very significant release -- Mat has gone mental putting in one awesome feature after another. Unlike previous point releases, this version will have a significant impact on CMS users as we've completely overhauled the formtool engine to use jQuery/jQueryUI -- things will look a little different in the webtop for content contributors. I have to say we're very pleased with the results, and as a long time FarCry user myself I find the improvements a joy to work with. For a variety of reasons we're looking at upgrading the version from a point release to a full blown version release. ie. instead of 5.3 it will be called 6.0 Primarily, we want to shift CF engine support from 7+ to 8+. In line with our historical versioning this requires a full version number release as we're essentially breaking engine compatibility (in this case with CF7). I thought I might throw that out there to gather some feedback, and see how much of an impact (if any) that's likely to cause the development community. Keep in mind that 5.2.x will always support CF7.
