re. objectbroker I would use the FarCry api. look for
removeFromObjectBroker there is a wrapper for it in fapi.

I would look to use this on content update, firing off a request to
each servber to call removeFromObjectBroker for the objectID to remove
that content item from the broker on all servers, it will get added
back in with new content when next requested.
