You are using internet explorer? Sometimes a missing script or asset
can result in relocation to a 404.
Try installing firefox and then get the extension 'tamper data'. Run
tamper data whilst opening the editor and look for 404's.

Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong, as I'd prefer this
field to be
a richtext box instead of just a big textarea.
