Personally i know Wordpress a bit, Drupal i don't know, but i do know
that with farcry you can build almost anything you want.

I have set up some live farcry sites and created some still offline
projects and i could build functionality from a simple site with
standard farcry cms to a online shop with extended functionality, also
was able to fully customize the login stuff and account stuff, so in
other words the basis of a social networking website.

When the online shop project is completed i might share it, what i
want to add to it is ajax calls, have to study how to.

Maybe you could share the rough bits so advice from experience and
insights can be provided.
