The "theme management" in NearCry is just about switching the plugin list and
reinitialising the app. It requires that the project "theme" or "look and
feel" be encapsulated in a plugin rather than in the project itself.

Ideally we'd envisaged having plugins as themes everywhere, with the project
being virtually empty for basic installs. This would allow folks to easily
swap in and out themes. In essence all the parts are there -- the engineering
work is done. We just need a bunch of themes to showcase how it all works.

Problem is we (the Daemonites) typically build larger, bespoke solutions -- so
setting up "instant sites" for beginners is something we do as purely a fun
thing; its not something we can readily utilise ourselves.

That said, the theme technology is awesome for the clients where we run
"sub-sites" -- that's why it got built and why it works so well (even if its
not currently showcased in the basic install). What we call a "sub-site" is
the same application run with a different plugin list and a different branch of
the tree for the hierarchy -- its still the same app, it just the plugin list
changes dynamically based on the URL.

For example, the following sites are basically just content segments of exactly
the same application with a different theme loaded:

Awesome, eh.
