The issue is NOT happening on CF9, and therefore must be an oddness in 
the way Railo is handling webservice calls.  It seems to be a bit 
pickier about forming the JSON return result.  In going back to the 
"stable" railo build, it's working once again... though I hope this 
won't be an issue in 3.2.x final.
