Yes indeed... and it was hours. Basically, I'm seeing anything called
through admin or customadmin produces the edittab overlay deal. The
"old school" editing (such as those links found in edit config) produce
a call straight to /conjuror/invocation. Everything eventually runs
through /conjuror/invocation, but since there's a jQuery overlay
produced by most types, it will show the object overview after edit.
I THINK objectadmin is driving this, but I'm not entirely certain. It's
beyond the time I have to spend on it at present, but I'm going to put
in a JIRA ticket on it. I think, and I may be the only one, that it'd
be nice to have a flag in the objectadmin call to either not produce the
jQuery tab or to close the tab when you've clicked "save" or "cancel"
within the object edit workflow.
Why would I want this? I'm having a hard time selling the framwork at
times as some of the more helpless types see it as "too complicated".
For these, I've made a plugin that takes all the standard types and
makes them "types" instead of "version" objects, and then they at least
don't have to approve/send to draft items. Yes, they lose that feature,
but for some of the smaller sites/clients this is a good trade. For
these types, having to click "Done with this" button for each item they
edit is just another click they don't really need to make.
