I think we have consciously not made a decision :)

It's possible to create and attach a new object from most of these pickers,
and in those cases the new objects default to draft status. So you would
have a draft object selected, but would not be able to select other draft
objects. Or be able to reselect a new object if you mistakenly removed it.

If it's something you need to fix yourself, you can use the
ftlibrarydatasqlwhere or ftLibraryData attribute and filter the results
yourself.
