OK - well - I must be going mad. After checking over and over again (and trust me - I am a SYNTAX fiend) I gave up and cut and past both Michael and Brendans versions for the Custom Admin Tab - and BOTH worked. I still cannot see what was/is wrong with the one that didnt work. I am guessing it could be a rogue control character. And it works as I expected it to work - so this one can be closed off.
