Having thought about this a bit and discussed it with a couple of FarCry
users I think it is time to open discussion on this.

In my experience, there are two types of workflow:

1. serial (or hierarchical)
2. round table
3. combination of 1 and 2

Serial is when you need something approved by a number of people all one
after the other. The best example is Author, to Proof Reader, to
Approver.

Round table is when you need a group of people to all approve something.
The best example is Author, to a Committee (or even simply a cheque that
needs to signatures). The catch here is that you may not need all of the
people to approve it. So the workflow engine needs to be able to specify
how many of the group need to approve before it is considered to go live.

The final type of workflow is simply just a combination of either 1 or 2.
For example, the Committee may have approved it (with a 3/4 approval
ratio) but it may then need to go through a General Manager.

TO DAEMON:

Are there any plans to add a workflow engine (with features similar to the
above) into FarCry?

TO COMMUNITY:

What sort of demand is there for this?
