Yes - uploading the same image multiple times.  Despite all best efforts,
when creating a new site this happens a lot.

That is basically what I am asking.  I can see what I would need to do to
make it configurable - but dont want to edit the core (unless I know any
changes I make to the core will be in the next release).

Yes - that is not a problem.  But we are never likely to want to keep the
old image and the Admin people (who are not technical people) dont think
of deleting the old image first before uploading the new one.  This means
we get older versions of the image hanging around that can no longer be
deleted (because once they are overwritten, the metadata no longer knows
about the older version).

I can - and probably will - write a "Clean Up Old Files" routine to add
into my Admin area that will compare the directory info against the
metadata in the database and allow for selective deletion.

I am also struggling with Image reuse (like being able to upload images
that can be used in multiple places including in the Teaser area of
dmNews, etc.).
