You basically only need another instance of an application and to create anotherdatabase and initialise it with the FarCry schema. You can use the INSTALL script for this but you need to note a couple of things: * The install script will overwrite the %farcryroot%/apps.cfm file. This means you should always backup apps.cfm before you run the install so you can then copy the stApps entries back after your install is completed (but see below for an fix to this that I may implement shortly). * Unless you are prepared to edit %farcryroot%/apps.cfm each time to swap which site you are running Admin for, you need to set up virtual servers/sub-domains for each FarCry site. * You will only need to create one additional virtual mapping (because all instances of FarCry share the same Admin instance). * Even if you are not running a FarCry site as your webroot (ie. you have a sub-directory off your main URL for each instance) you will still need to be aware of all of the above - because the automatic association of the Admin tool with an instance of FarCry is based on the domain it is running under - not the directory. I may also look at a revised login process for the Admin tool to support a "domain" field during login that lets you select which FarCry site you want to administer (all still within the security of each site of course). You should end up with an apps.cfm that looks something like this (after you cut and paste): <cfscript> stApps = structNew(); stApps['first.mydomain.com'] = 'first_app'; // name of physical directory for your FarCry Application stApps['second.mydomain.com'] = 'second_app'; // name of physical directory for your FarCry Application stApps['third.mydomain.com'] = 'third_app'; // name of physical directory for your FarCry Application </cfscript> The physical directories are the locations in which the FarCry instance has been installed when you ran the install script. These will generally be off your FarCry root directory (ie. where you installed FarCry). Then, when you run Admin, it looks up the stApps structure using the domain you run Admin on (e.g. http://second.mydomain.com/farcry) and knows which directory to use for all the FarCry instance files (e.g. 'second_app'). So, taking your list of steps the following applies: 1. Unzip... (no - you dont have to do this again) 2. Create empty DB (yep - you do have to do this) 3. Create ODBC connection (yep - you do have to do this) 4. Create 2 virtual mappings (only need to create one for the new site - and you will probably want to use sub-domains to make Admin easier as mentioned above) 4A. Backup your APPS.CFM file (new step) 5. Run farcry/install (yes - but with the following step added) 6. Restore any previous entries from APPS.CFM -OR- copy the single line from the new APPS.CFM to your old and rename (new step) I am considering creating a modified version of the install script that looks to see if an APPS.CFM is already there, include it, add the new entry and then write back out the updated script. Usual caveats apply here - happy for Daemon guys to either confirm or correct what I have suggested above.
