Hi All. I've just joined this list, so please excuse me if this has been discussed already. I couldn't find any reference to it in the FAQ.
I want to use Farcry as a framework for a fairly large web application that would be distributed to well over a hundred education institutions. The problem is that this will be a migration of an existing app, and that some overlap will be required. The issue is that our current database is Informix. Informix is one of the big 3 unix based DBs. Its ansi SQL compliant. I don't want to ask our clients to have one brand of DB for our apps data, and another one for the Farcry infrastructure. What's involved in getting Farcry to work on Informix? Is there a list of functions that need to be converted to work with any database? Can anyone offer any advice, help, or assistance?
