Has anyone compared the speed and robustness of any image manipulation libraries?
I have tried the included Farcry methods (with ImageJ) - works fine, but need to add text to some images. I then tried Macromedia's Jimg (DRK 4) which uses Sun's JAI - works fine but I have 'heard' JAI is slow. I have also 'heard' good things about efflare's cfx_imagecr but have not tried it yet (commercial). Anyway, my production system will need to handle many frequently large images - has anyone experience of any of these packages (good/bad) in a high volume production environment? Thanks in advance.
