I’ve been putting this off as one of those jobs I’ll come back to ‘when I have a few minutes of spare time’ and it never came around. Now I have a client who wants to set up FarCry on my system and so the question of how to set it up as part of my company’s offerings arises.
We’re only very tiny in hosting, and don't have our own dedicated server yet – maybe later this year - so I wonder if anyone’s set up FarCry in this sort of environment. I want to be able to offer FarCry to my clients, and to be able to use it myself on several sites all hosted on the same box, but I don't want to set anything up outside of the space I pay for, i.e. under the CFUSIONMX folder. That would give FarCry to the other company also using our box and I don't want to give them a free kick. Let them do their own work, I say.
Here’s our setup:
Win2k, SQLServer2000, ColdFusionMX6.1 plenty of disk space, a little skinny on RAM but it’s working ok for now (512MB), the web server we’re using is IIs.
IS it practical to think of setting up FarCry under that environment or do I really have to tell my client he can’t have FarCry and wait till we have our own dedicated box?
