Hi - This is my first message here, I have been following the Farcry scene
for a little while, and have decided to give it a go. I have got it all
installed and running, but I am wondering how some of those sites in their
site listings, go from what I have and what they have !!! There are some
truly clever people about. I am wondering if you can point me to some
clear guidlines for creating new user interfaces, including the menu
systems etc. Thanks in advance

The area you need to work is the webskins. This is where you define the templates and look/feel of your website. Each object type has it's own directory in the webskin folder and you can define multiple templates for each type, eg dmHTML has a number of templates by default including some teaser methods.

For an introduction to customsing the look of your FarCry website check out the How-To guides on the FarCry website:

http://farcry.daemon.com.au/go/documentation/developers/how-to

and in particular the one called "Site Makeover - a walkthrough". This guide is a little out of date and is using the old default templates but should give you an idea of where to start.

You should also check the home of the Aura templates

http://www.leorex.com/products/aura/

Here you will find information on Ben's templates, style sheets, photoshop and fireworks templates and some examples of drop down menus.

Hope this helps :)
