Neil,

Here's a content rule that ships with standard Farcry.
  1. Create some event items.
  2. Switch on the "Show Design" and select a container on your page.
  3. Select Event Calendar Rule
  4. Keep the default calendar display method and select GO.
Thast all there is to it. After that you can change the configurations/rule/styling to suit your needs.

dmEvent is dinstinct from say dmNews in that it has both a publishdate and
an "event date".  This means that the Event Objs are ordered by event date
-- so we can put them in funky calendar views and the like -- try the
calendar rule, I think you'll be impressed at the CSS goodness.
