I agree with both of you - there's much more flexibility in doing it this
way.

In my attempt I was trying to call a display method, but wasn't able to
get it to work.  This is probably a simple hurdle, but I'm basing my
experimentation on the How-To's and there's not enough granularity of
explanation for this aspect of creating custom rules.  I want to know what
these arrays are, and why I'm adding things to them.  I need to know where
the objects I'm instantiating are, and what I'm passing to them.

I can copy/paste all day, but until I understand why something is working
I tend to go with the simpler method, which in this case means coding the
display in the execute method.  I will keep trying until I get it to work
though because you guys are right about it being the best way to design
displays.
