Gary,

We're about to go down the NAS route for our clusters (one of them a FarCry
cluster in development) as well. Can you tell me whether you use drive
letters or UNC paths for your NAS? Our network guys tell me this makes a
big diference configuration and management wise for them. From my
perspective, I know CF can handle either, but from experience I also know
that working with UNC paths in ColdFusion can sometimes be "tricky".

We don't store our web content on each server. The cluster has a central
storage unit and we upload files/images to that server. The webserver
roots then all point at the shared disk resource.

In our case the central storage unit is currently a NAS (Network Attached
Storage) unit. We also have a (much larger) SAN (Storage Area Network)
which we may end up using in the future.

These types of units provide very good redunancy through multiple RAID
architecture and also make it very easy to expand disk in a Live
environment as well as being able to reduce the storage requirement for
clustered servers.

Because of this, we have no problems running FarCry in a Cluster (but
NOTE: our load balancing is done by hardware - not using any software
clustering - e.g. ClusterCats).

In addition, our Load Balancer (from Array Networks) is "smart" in that it
will ensure a session remains on the same server for the duration of a
session (so that we dont have issues of sharing session across servers).
